Fantastic Maintenance Day spruces up our hall

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Maintenance Day and helped us tidy, clean, improve and look after our hall.

Despite awful weather, we managed a host of tasks outside including cutting back branches for winter, cleaning out gutters and downpipes, pressure washing our front patio and ramp and back step, cleaning out the ash bin, and replacing a broken fence panel and posts near the garage.

Inside the team weren’t slouching either, with all chairs and tables cleaned and checked, with broken ones repaired or decommissioned (RIP Grey chairs), old PA system removed and the wall behind painted to make good, thr accessible toilet replaced and various electrical bits addressed.

Plus, our external and balcony stores were sorted; with broken and redundant kit removed, leaving us with a little more space and allowing us room to sort our remaining stores to make our scouting easier.

It was a massive team effort from leaders, parents and yoing people and is way bigger than one day – our floor was buffed in the days before and there is more to sort and remedy in the days and weeks to follow. There was much more done than listed here.

Your support and donations help make it possible – thank you. You can support us next at the Totton Santa Run on Sunday 14th December.
