For over 100 years Scouting has been all about young people having an adventure.
Scouting works best when our scouts of all ages have a say and shape what they do. That’s what #YouShape 2016 was all about.
Between the 1st and the 7th of February, Scouts up and down the country were encouraged to speak out and shape what they did. Including us here at the 5th.
Our Beaver section ran a whole night on giving them a voice with a log chew to learn what activities and badges they would like to try, but especially, which games they did and didn’t like! We also explored what goes on at camp, what they were worried about and what we as leaders could do to help. Be prepared to see some of the ideas put into action in May.
Our Cubs also took part with a full discussion on what parts they loved and what they didn’t as part of their meetings over both pack nights. They were fully rewarded for it with a trip to Romsey Rapids!
You can see what happened nationally, including at the big meet in Doncaster, here.
