The Group’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place on Tuesday 20th June at our HQ. We were joined by parents, leaders and scouts from all sections to hear about what we have achieved over the past year. This is one of the reports presented that night:
We have had a fun packed year, the Explorers always plan their own evening programme and we have had activities from Easter egg making and decorating (& eating!) to Expedition planning.
Several of our Explorers have completed their Chiefs Scouts Diamond and Platinum awards over this last year, these correspond with the Duke of Edinburgh’s award (Bronze & Silver respectively).
We had no Summer Expedition last year due mainly to time and work commitments. This year (as a District) we have our own Lake District Expedition/Exploration in October.
The Explorer numbers have fallen over the last year due to Explorers moving on to University and Network, and we need some more young people to bolster our ranks.
We are currently working on our Navigation Stage 4 badge and we hope to complete this over the next few months.
