St. George’s Day 2013

It’s that time of year again when all the groups in the district meet to pay homage, scouting style, to St. George the patron saint of England and more importantly Scouting.

This year we are meeting at Appletree Court, the council’s offices near to Bolton’s Bench. We then walk up Lyndhurst High Street on parade to the Church at the top of the hill (St. Michael and All Angels) for a service before heading back down again. Parents are welcome to watch going up and down but unfortunately there are so many scouts in the church that parents can’t join us inside.

We’re meeting there at 2.15pm, if you can’t get to Lyndhurst then contact your leader as soon as possible. There will be minibuses leaving Testwood, aim to get to Testwood by 1.15, but please let your leader know if your coming that way. We can’t take everyone so if you can get to Lyndhurst please do so that way.

As we’re going to be on show to everyone full uniform is needed and we need everyone who can to attend. If the weather looks dodgy (thankfully the forecast says it should be good) then keep a coat handy but they can’t be worn or carried on the way up.

Any questions, contact a leader as soon as possible.
