Last year’s run was a great success once again. We saw 300 runners dressed as Santa take on the new route, starting and finishing at the Empire Hall where we held our Christmas Fayre.
This was extremely busy for most of the morning. We were treated to music from Ocean Harmony’s barbershop chorus and the Roverang Alumni choir. Mince pie eating competition, reindeer and more. A massive thanks again to everyone who helped make it the success it was.
This year’s run is shaping up nicely with lots of stalls booked for the fayre. We have birds of prey and Roverang returning once again. We also will have tomahawk throwing run by Ferny Crofts, who are helping us to get things ready for the day too.
We already have runners registered to take part and hope this week’s visit to the New Forest Marathon will help drive those numbers. Sponsorship for the event is down and help in this area is much needed as well as on the day help too. However I’m sure the day will be a repeat success as the previous 3 years.
