St. George’s Day 2012

This years St. Georges Day Parade will be in Lyndhurst and all members of the group are expected to attend. The parade will start at the access road to Apple tree Court near Bolton’s Bench at 2.30pm and will march up Lyndhurst High Street to St. Michael and All Angels church. After the service, the parade will march back down the High Street and will be dismissed from the road near Bolton’s Bench at approximately 4.30pm.

For the parade, the group asks that all members be at the starting point by 2.15pm. Cerberus Explorers are requested to be there by 2.00pm to allow time for district wide organisation of the Explorers. For those requiring transport to Lyndhurst, we are able to take a few up to Lyndhurst, however this must be pre-arranged with the leader. Those travelling will need to meet at Testwood scout hut at 1.15pm and will be back at approximately 5.00pm.

All sections will need to be in full Uniform – shirt/jumper, scarf, trousers (Preferably scout trousers but black or grey for younger sections acceptable otherwise), clean black shoes and socks – with all their badges sown on in the correct places – ask your leader if unsure. No coats can be worn and no mobile phones or iPods please. Some money for the collection would also be appreciated.

We do encourage watching the parade, however due to lack of space parents are unable to get into the church. If you are watching, then parking for Lyndhurst can be found in the central car park or at Bolton’s Bench. Please do not park on the verge of the roads – the police will be in attendence and are currently targeting this practice.

Thank you
